Wooooooooooo

The JoCo concert rocked. Hearing Jonathan Coulton live with just him and his guitar is a very different experience from hearing the songs as they are published on the site. "Code Monkey" went from a rock song to an almost-but-not-quite ballad.

Oh, an he managed to rickroll the entire audience. Seriously.

But yeah, it was awesome. Now to wait for the next No More Kings tour.

DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE

JONATHAN COULTON is going to be in FAYETTEVILLE on TUESDAY at 7:00 PM at the ARKANSAS UNION THEATER. SERIOUSLY. And the concert is FREE.

I don't know about anyone else, but I plan to be in Fayetteville on Tuesday.

DUDE.

EDIT:

Even more sweet news. No More Kings is coming out with their new album on May 12. The band's giving away a single on the website, and a music video will be out on May 1. Or so says the email I received. XD

So yeah, awesomeness all around.

Grargle! I liiiiiiive! I've become a zombie me!

Anyway.

Hello there.

Turns out quite a bit has gone on since I last posted. Notably:

  1. July
  2. August
  3. September
  4. The Olympics
  5. School starts
  6. Short-sighted Wall Streeters take on too much risk, panic, and require 700 billion dollars to regain their senses
  7. The Yetis began prepping for NaNo
  8. Popeye begins another insane storyline
  9. A number of webcomics ended :(
  10. I started work on a new desktop pc
  11. I discovered Terry Pratchett
  12. Jack Thompson was disbarred
  13. Eric Burns starts (and then stops) posting again

So I need to get a NaNo idea, do all my homework, work, go to class, and build a pc.

Judging from #6, the appropriate course of action really is panic. I can get behind that. :D

Some Math

A few equations:

  • Nintendo DS + Opera web browser = sweeeet
  • Leather seats + summer sun = OUCH
  • Me + work = Blargle

I can has research grant now? :)

"Park" is a great sound effect.

I really kind of hoped this would happen, but it still caught me by surprise.

Hope everyone's okay after the crazy wind and rain we had yesterday. Power was out at our house for a little while (and later cable/'net, which is why this isn't posted until today), but that's pretty much it. I didn't realize how bad the storm actually was (even though we drove through some of it) until I saw on the way to church that a number of really huge trees (say, 30ft tall or more) were completely blown over with their roots stuck in the air and there were power lines crossing the road (thankfully they weren't live for whatever reason). The church didn't have power so we had services outside, which was..."interesting" I guess is the best word for it.

*pout*

I was looking at the No More Kings website looking into nearby performances, and the OKC show isn't on the list anymore. They're in Alabama on the first of June, Colorado on the twelfth, and then the nearest they get is Indiana at the end of August.

I was looking forward to that. :(

Ladies and gentlemen, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is awesome. Sure there were a couple of things that kinda pushed the limits of what I like to think of as the Indiana Jones universe, but they were all in good fun. All in all, it's a great last ride for our favorite archaeologist. Also, Shia LaBeouf is a great actor, in my opinion. I expect great things from him.

Oh, and now I reeeaally want to see Wall-E.
