First, because it looked fun:
I actually redrew it because a webcomic was both the recurring villain and perky civilian. It's still the recurring supervillain, but oh well.
In other news, I'm back from our little family vacation. We went down to the Ouachita National Forest and went along trails of various sorts on four-wheelers. We stayed in a really cool cabin that had just about everything except internet access. I probably nearly killed myself, but I was a bit too concerned about making it over the hills to notice. :) Tuesday we were rained on a little before we made it back home, and Wednesday we drove out in the middle of nowhere and hiked out to a little waterfall while it was raining, which made me wish I'd brought my rain jacket. Having had enough water, I stayed at the cabin while everyone else went out riding once it stopped raining. Dad rain into a tree to avoid falling down a ravine, and Sis somehow managed to topple her bike as well. They're a bit bruised, but otherwise we're all fine. All in all it was a lot of fun.
I hear there is a movie trip or somesuch in the works! Sounds fun, but I don't yet know whether I'll go or not; I'm still decompressing, but I'm starting to miss my adoring public. Well maybe not adoring. Whatever. :P ;)

The new Avatar DVD came in today. It's sweeeet.
I won't be at the Yeti meeting next week. The family's taking a quick vacation to some state park in the Ouachitas to ride the four-wheelers Dad's been buying. We're leaving Monday and coming back Wednesday or Thursday. Hopefully I'll have some sort of 'net access, but I don't know for sure.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull comes out May 22. This seems the sort of thing that would deserve an Indy Marathon. ;)
Tomb Raider doesn't control near as well as I remember.
Sheldon continuously makes me smile. It's no grand epic or anything, just a simple comic strip making jokes.
Also, ducks in sunglasses.

I'm messing with my journal theme. I kinda liked the old one, but it was getting kinda old. Also, I really wanted a tag cloud. ;)
I'm not sold on this one. I don't particularly care for the blue colors or the image at the top. Which, I guess, are the main points of the layout. Oh well. It'll do for now. I'm tired.

SQUEE.
EDIT: This may be the most awesome CD I've ever listened to. And that's a pretty tough field.

- Music:No More Kings
It's a little disappointing to have what could be a revolutionary programming idea and then find out that someone else thought of it first. And that they were shot down by naysayers who were afraid to give people a little bit of power because someone might abuse it.
For those who might care, the idea was using Annotations in Java to implement operator overloading. If you understood that, give yourself five geek points. ;)

Jim Davis is a fan of Garfield minus Garfield.
Maybe he really isn't that bad of a guy.

Dangit, I had a feeling we should have through the credits. Well, okay, I was just liking the music.
Now I may just have to go see it again. ;)
Also, I went and bought the No More Kings debut CD after listening to "Sweep the Leg" and "Michael (Jump In)" on the NMK website. Check out the video to "Michael". It's awesome.
EDIT: HOLY CHEESE NMK WILL BE IN OKLAHOMA CITY ON JUNE 5.

Also, the new Avatar DVD has shipped. Yay!

Well, more of a link firecracker.
First, for those who grew up on The Karate Kid, "Sweep the Leg" by a band called No More Kings. It's a little old, but it's good.
For the techies in the audience, The Daily WTF, an ongoing collection of verifiable proof that you don't have to actually know what you're doing if your boss doesn't understand it either. Or something like that. Perhaps a better lesson to take would be "people are dumb".

Four-wheelers are fun. So is Warning Forever. :D
15 years later and the first brontosaur (allosaur?) scene in Jurassic Park is still impressive.

I might not mind weed eating so much if the weed eater didn't seem to be made for someone half a foot taller than me. :P
It's kinda frustrating to have eMusic downloads and no idea what to spend them on.

Posted here so someone can remind me if I forget one.
- 21 - Out now. Or was out. Whatever. I wanna see it.
- Ironman - Friday!
- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - May 22
- WALL·E - June 27. PIXAR!!!!
- The Dark Knight - July 18
Movies I think might be interesting:
- The X-Files: I Want to Believe - July 25
- The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - August 1. On the fence. Rachel Weisz didn't come back, which gives me some reservations.
- The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - May 16. Not having grown up with Narnia, I'm finding it hard to be too enthusiastic about this. Not to say I don't think it'll be good, just...eh.

I say that to say this: today's Marvin has me utterly confused. Yes, that's a link to CC, but what research I've done indicates that as today's actual strip. I really don't know what to say. If there had been some sort of build up to this, fine. But this is a comic of diaper jokes and stupid parental humor. And now that I look back over recent strips, it's as if Calvin and Hobbes are writing the strip or something.

So, the newest version of Ubuntu was released yesterday. I finally have it downloaded and burned to a CD, so barring any serious unforseen issues I'll be spending my weekend doing a full reinstall of both my desktop and laptop. Not at the same time, of course. I'm crazy, not stupid.
If I don't come back, send a mocha to find me. ;)

Okay, so here's the Box-O-Doom prompt I wrote yesterday.
The Prompt: Write about a goon who is riding a train in a basement. Include a handkerchief.
